The 2016 Veneroso is one of the most elegant wines I have tasted from Ghizzano. Bright, effusive aromatics lift a core of red Sangiovese fruit, all framed by nervous tannins that give the wine its shape. Sweet tobacco, dried leaves, mint, cedar and incense develop later, adding further shades of nuance. The purity of the flavors is simply striking. Magnificent.

Tenuta di Ghizzano
Die Tenuta die Ghizzano erzeugt ausschließlich biologisch und biodynamisch und bewirtschaftet heute etwa 280 Hektar, von denen 18 dem Weinbau, 15 dem Olivenanbau, 100 dem Getreide und die restlichen 150 dem Wald und den Pappelhainen gewidmet sind. Ghizzano ist ein kleines Bergdorf, dass im Terre di Pisa liegt – unweit der toskanischen Küste, 40 km von Livorno und 40 km südlich von Pisa.
