Seit über 500 Jahren betreibt die Familie Milz Weinbau an der berühmten Moselschleife in Trittenheim. Ein halbes Jahrhundert hat man sich hier dem Moselwein verschrieben - und das bedeutet natürlich Riesling. Anfang 2018 ist Sebastian Schmidtke als Geschäftsführer mit eingestiegen und brachte mit freiem Geist frischen Wind in das Traditionsweingut, das zu den Gründungsmitgliedern des VDP gehört.

The 2022 Apotheke GG Im Neuberg was the first release of this cru that is located on the left side of the Hollywood-like site indication. The wine opens with a clear yet deep, intense and mineral yet most of all fragrant bouquet of yellow stone fruit aromas and the notes of broken slate. Intense and generous yet very elegant and crystalline on the palate, this is a full-bodied and quite rich yet precise, salivating and finely grippy Riesling with a long, intense and saline finish. There were some superb 2022s in the region, and this is one of them. It needs time, though, or better, the right (rich) dish to shine.

The Trittenheimer monopole Riesling 2021 Felsenkopf GG offers a clear, fascinating, pure, dense and slightly nutty as well as flinty and coolish/refreshing nose of bright, ripe Riesling berries. Round and elegant on the palate, this is a medium to full-bodied, fresh and finely concentrated Riesling with refreshing acidity and a youthful, still nervous but soon stimulating character. There are lemon bitters on the quite intense and slightly alcoholic finish.
