The Haardter 2021 Herrenletten Riesling VDP. Erste Lage offers a clear, bright and intense, well-concentrated and juicy nose of ripe Riesling berries intertwined with substantial mineral notes. From the deepest soils in Haardt, this is a full-bodied, rich and elegant dry Riesling with a saline and silky-textured palate and fine phenolics. The finish is intense and juicy yet also stimulatingly savory and provided with refreshing lemon notes. There is a bit of chalk in the soils, which provides the texture of this elegant and refined yet full-bodied, supple and complex Riesling. 13% stated alcohol. Natural cork stopper. Tasted in December 2022.
